Rashad ILL

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Born in Illinois, raised in Milwaukee, incarcerated in Missouri. My name is Rashad ILL and I am currently serving two consecutive life sentences for assault, robbery, and burglary (long list short).

I've known I was adopted for as long as I can remember and lived in Milwaukee, WI from the time I was able to crawl until I jumped off the porch at age 20 and moved to St. Louis. I've seen both the streets and the better side of life, so when I speak on it in my music it isn't just something hip and trendy I came up with to rap about. I've actually experienced both worlds to be able to speak on them.

Rappers ain't spittin' no more. These days all you need is a hot beat with a catchy hook and everybody loves you. Artists puts on these facades to cover up their true selves because they feel like they won't be accepted for who they really are.

I use my music not only to vent, but also to express the things that matter to me in hopes that perhaps someone out there can relate to it. Every now and then I'll spit something purely to flex my versatility, but I only do it because I feel that I'm better at it than a lot of artists out right now.

Since being in prison, my taste in music has definitely changed and there's not many artists nowadays that really inspire me because most have gone complacent.

I take all the pain, depression, frustration, bitterness, and sadness within me and use it as the fuel to push me forward in pursuing my goals of not only putting Milwaukee on the map, but desiging the blueprint of the empire I plan to build once I see freedom again. This storm won't last forever, and I am determined to succeed in spite of those who have turned their backs and counted me out due to me catching my time.

I'd like to thank those few loyal people still in my corner, especially my parents who are always encouranging me to bloom where I'm planted. Also my cousin Shayla and her husband Jeremy, without them this avenue wouldn't even be open to me right now. To my city? MIL-town I'm still down... 414 to the death of me... To my doubters? All I can say is remember the name Rashad ILL...
